Sources: Morelos confirms he wants to leave Rangers for Porto

Alfredo Morelos has reportedly confirmed he wants the Porto move, and all that remains is for Rangers to receive a fee suitable for the striker.

The 25-year old forward, currently on Copa America duty, has privately told his cohorts and friends that the Porto move is his choice, and that’s what he wants to do now.

The offer on the table for him personally is said to be a five-year deal with a wage around £35,000.

Unfortunately for Porto unless they up their offer of transfer fee from a baseline of £8.5M they will not get their man and Morelos will not get his move.

Rangers are not strangers to rejecting bids for Morelos and keeping the Colombian ‘against his will’ – Lille failed in a £16.5M bid last summer, and Porto won’t succeed till they at least double their offer or add major addons to make up the difference.

Rangers are pretty much accepting the Colombian wants his move now, and he wants a Spanish/Portuguese-speaking nation. It appears Alfredo Morelos has given up on the dream of the Premier League for now.

As such, it’s just a matter of time before he does leave, but the ball is firmly in Porto’s court and they’re not going to get a £20M striker (in reality even more than that) for £8.5M.

Rangers await something better.
