Ibrox Noise sources have revealed Alfredo Morelos’ current absence from training and the first team is due to his quarantining after a Sunday return from red-listed Colombia.

Having returned this week, Morelos is undergoing a 10-day quarantine and keeping himself fit with supplied exercise bikes and weights (as Rangers did with Fashion Sakala) and will not be available for Livi and while likely to be in the squad for the CL opener, is unlikely to feature in the first leg.

Morelos is NOT, as the red tops claim, still in Colombia.

The curiosity is why Rangers have not released a formal statement on this, but our information is he’s isolating in a Glasgow hotel awaiting the end of his isolation period so he can rejoin the squad next week.

Morelos is a bit behind, like a few of the squad now – Rangers have obviously upped a gear over the weekend and got much more up to speed, and some players, like Morelos, Joe Aribo, Kemar Roofe, Niko Katic and Ryan Jack for varying reasons, of course, are all considerably off the pace and could take up to a month to catch up.

As for the Colombian, he now has serious competition for places with the in-form Cedric Itten and the bright debut from new boy Fashion Sakala, not to mention Kemar Roofe.

It just gives Rangers more depth and options up front and potential makes the side less reliant on el-buffalo, which is always healthy.
