Pre-season at Auchenhowie is underway, and Ibrox Noise wanted to take you through the players who AREN’T there, or at least aren’t with the group, and the reasons for those. In case you didn’t already know…
Steven Gerrard calls it a ‘niggle’, an injury issue Kent has brought to the RTC with him, but he could well be one of those ‘unfit’ returning players the manager isn’t too happy with. Either way, he’s behind the others.
If ever a bad signing could be summed up in one lad, it’s Hastie. Blatantly a bad buy from even before we signed him, Hastie has been chucked down to the B team and his contract doesn’t run out till the year after next. He’s completely finished at Ibrox and won’t be part of the senior club’s plans.
We’re not sure exactly on the state of his recovery, but Jack remains a big question mark not only for the CL but the start of the season. Had invasive surgery which ruled him out of the Euros, and he’s not part of the visible group at Auchenhowie at the moment. Did speak a few days ago about his hopes and feelings, which was nice to hear.
Alfredo Morelos, Nathan Patterson, Filip Helander, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara and Jon McLaughlin:
All away with their countries, and while all campaigns bar Colombia’s are over, they’ll get some extra rest anyway.
Yes, we just covered him, but Stevie has admitted the Croat has major injury issues, hence he missed most of his country’s Euros. We don’t know what his fitness will be like when he gets back from the Euros.
Slightly loose one this, Canadian journo Gareth Wheeler has confirmed Arfield continues to have injury issues and isn’t representing Canadia at the Gold Cup, but believes he’ll be in the mix come September. He is at training but we’re not sure on his level of participation. Had niggles last season and they may have carried over.
Nothing really to see here, he’s been held up by red tape. Hopefully he’ll be in Scotland soon.
If there’s any we’ve missed out, do let us know.
