On a rare occasion, we’re going to allow one tiny little ‘slip’ into discussing that lot across the city, but it’s less about them and more about their new manager Stavros.

See, we’re not really interested in what they do or don’t do, but we accidently saw a glimpse of a few quotes of the Greek bloke’s post-match interview via Sky, and blow me with a wet fish and call me Frank if the nonsense he was coming out with didn’t scream of caravans and crazy Portuguese.

That’s right, the absolute hogwash the new guy was pushing out reminded us of four years ago and the absolutely horrendous Pedro Caixinha reign, a man who was so out of his depth his legs were half way under the sea bed.

And that old ‘shoe on the other foot’ paradigm, which has applied the past year or so with the media’s descriptions of chaos in Parkhead following a decade of the same at Ibrox seems to have rolled over into the manager of the beleaguered side.

He blamed everything under the sun for the draw, whining about the same things that are causing issues for all clubs, including the Danes themselves, while also being apparently delighted with his players.

It just sounded like stuff we’ve heard before, from our own crazy ex-manager.

In truth, Pedro wasn’t a bad bloke, a decent chap really, even if Kenny Miller clearly won’t be on his Xmas card list any time soon – but he was an abysmal choice for Rangers and wildly overwhelmed.

This Stavros looks like he’s hitting the same brick wall at Celtic, and while a draw with Michelin isn’t as horrific as the shambles in Luxembourg all those years ago, the excuses all sound terribly familiar.

Never more glad we’ve got Stevie in charge.

  1. Even his signings reek of Pedro. Bringing in folk from leagues he knows and no one else really does. Hopefully this Japanese boy is their new Herrera and works out just as well for them as it unfortunately did for Pedro!

  2. ok broxi…great comment…but who cares what they do…they cant stop the rangers steamroller from flattening there ambitions
