Rangers have reportedly submitted a bid for Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel, in an attempt to shore up the continuing right wing issue.
The 23-year old ex-QPR star, whose career stats are modest at best, has one assist and one goal in Turkey in 20 outings this season, and has never taken part in any European football. He has never been capped for his choice of national Nigeria.
We’re not going to pretend we know a thing about this lad, and we doubt too many of you do either, but if we have submitted a bid for him then we trust Stevie and the management team know what they’re doing.
In truth, the player we want out wide on the right is Denmark’s Andrea Skov Olson, namechecked on Saturday before all hell broke loose v Finland.
The Bologna winger is a rising star and is attainable, but Rangers appear to be making a move for Samuel, who is said to be worth around £4M. His contract is till 2025 so he’d cost Rangers close to full price to sign.
We’ll see if this is a bid accepted by the Turkish giants.
