Claims have been made that Rangers’ Borna Barisic is to be the subject of an at least four-team bidding war this summer.

The Croat star, shockingly omitted from their opening group game v England, is said to be attracting interest from Leeds, Wolves, Aston Villa and Arsenal as all four look to bolster their squads for a crack at a European place next season.

Barisic, whose value will rise assuming he regains the shirt from Gvardiol v the Czechs, has certainly been attracting interest since he joined Rangers, with his £1.5M transfer fee now pennies and the Croat worth around 10x that number.

Reports are that Rangers dismissed an £8M bid for him last summer, believed to be from Roma, and those Italian giants have gone a little quiet on their interest, but we don’t expect it to be gone.

But we do expect a clutch of clubs to make bids for Barisic, and a few of them may well come from England.

  1. I thought Barisic was reported as injured. Not been a great Euros so far for our players with Barisic and Helander not playing and Kamara turning in a fairly modest performance in a fine win for Finland. And Morelos not getting a game for Columbia in the Copa America.

  2. Aye my info said the same about Barasic. Unfortunately Scottish Football doesn’t instill confidence in NT managers sometimes. We know we are superb and given the Gerrard thing it should make them all first picks but who knows . Hopefully Barasic will play against Scotland and the Cheque’s.
