Luis Suarez has officially confirmed he isn’t joining Rangers in a story which will shock the football world to its very core…
Speaking to World Football magazine, the former Liverpool star was asked about the possibility of joining his old team mate, and he was pretty clear in his response:
“I think Stevie is doing just fine without me! I am pleased but not at all surprised to see him win the league with Rangers. Winning is what he does and at some point in the future I am sure he will be at Liverpool again.”
Sure, it’s not an explicit ‘no’ but he’s quite happy at Atletico and Dean Windass’ absurd notion that he was a realistic target has been widely mocked for the nonsense notion that it is.
Suarez has in fact confirmed he’s staying with Madrid for at least the final year of his deal, and is more than content there.
Still nice to see him praising Gerrard and Rangers because he remains one of the very best strikers on Planet Football and while he had a few issues in the past with his conduct, you can’t take away what he’s done in the game.
Pity we ain’t signing him, eh?
