The anti-Rangers Scottish press were up to their old tricks last night plugging Steven Gerrard for the Tottenham job… while Nuno Santo was confirmed as in talks with the London giants.

The piffle we’re seeing in the press is becoming lazier and lazier, and now it’s linking Rangers’ boss with the London seat, failing to notice former Wolves manager Santo was already not only in talks with Daniel Levy, but the outright favourite for the job.

Gerrard has repeatedly confirmed he’s not interested in any PL job aside Liverpool, and that’s a while down the road yet, with Rangers’ manager a huge admirer of current incumbent at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, while the CL winner has repeatedly said all this, nevertheless the press link him to Spurs, Everton and even West Brom at one point we’re sure.

The point is though that despite what Rangers’ boss says, the lazy press use his and Rangers’ name for attention and even when a renowned Portuguese manager is being spoken with directly by those at Molineux, Gerrard’s name still gets linked.

Tiresome.
