Galatasaray, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Lazio and Bochum are all said to be vying for the signature of Romanian star Ianis Hagi.

The attacking midfielder, who had a solid season last campaign and was among the best in the SPL for assists, has been linked with a move out for some time, particularly since failing to secure a regular playing slot, with Nigeria’s Joe Aribo the preference of Steven Gerrard.

And his assists and contribution have not gone unnoticed with Spanish, Italian, German and Turkish sides all monitoring him.

The Galatasaray link is particularly compelling given his childhood links with that club, and he’s on record as admitting he does want to play there.

The £3M signing from Genk’s biggest issue at Ibrox is his often being benched for the big matches, rather than being one of Gerrard’s dependables – but that said he played a lot of the Europa League campaign. Equally though he started just one match v Celtic.

What would Rangers get for him? His market value hasn’t soared to the extent Rangers would probably want, but a decent £7M-£10M would be seen as good business.

Time will tell if he moves on.
