“£30M” – Rangers assets finally being marketed at value…
Football - 2020 / 2021 Scottish FA Cup - Round 3 - Glasgow Rangers vs Cove Rangers - Ibrox Stadium Ex Rangers player Ally McCoist is seen before the game PUBLICATIONxNOTxINxUK

Ally McCoist’s claims yesterday Rangers could get £30M for Ryan Kent are absolutely true, and no one is suggesting he’s not worth that.

Indeed, McCoist is doing a far better job now regarding Rangers players’ values than he was last season when he tried to claim Alfredo Morelos was about £10M in value, something we’d have to respectfully disagree with.

But it harks back to our legends and ex-players hawking our asset players off for low sums – Alan Hutton trying to claim Glen Kamara will get someone a bargain at £10M was another example of our former charges downplaying the values.

But McCoist putting Kent into the £30M bracket is more like it, and much more fair.

Kent is worth a lot of money – his numbers this season are far better and while he is a fair way off being a candidate for POTY never mind winning, when he’s been good this season he’s been unplayable.

He’s a player many forget when it comes to our best players this campaign but when he’s in the zone he’s clearly worth a lot of money.

And McCoist is now doing a great job of ensuring the big numbers are out there.

Not that we want to sell the kid, that is.
