Rangers have a new injury blow after Croat superstar Borna Barisic missed both the cup win v Cove and this week’s training pre-Hibs.

The former Osijek man has been in fine form this season, and missed very few matches since his injury crises of his first season at Ibrox, but he’s picked up a few knocks here and there on international duty and after his conspicuous absence from the bench last weekend, it’s continued and he wasn’t involved in the group at Auchenhowie.

Naturally we hope it’s nothing serious, and not that there’s a good time to get an injury, but this is the least bad time, despite Rangers’ cup hopes.

Nevertheless, with Ryan Jack probably out for the season, James Tavernier’s return only just beginning and Niko Katic still out for a while, another big injury at Ibrox is certainly not wanted.

Hopefully it’s resolved quickly.
