Steven Gerrard could be set to spring an Old Firm surprise by selecting Scott Wright to start tomorrow.
The attacker has impressed on his cameos, and many fans expressed surprise at his not being featured at all v Hibs last weekend despite the win, and his particularly decent stint v Cove gave supporters encouragement at his progress.
However, tomorrow’s cup tie could well see the ex-Aberdeen man make the cut, and replace Kemar Roofe who had a subdued time of it v Jack Ross’s side regardless of his brace v Cove.
Of course, it’s Stevie’s call at the end of the day, but Wright is clearly in form and Roofe isn’t quite so sparkling ever since the Praha incident, but whatever call he makes will be the correct one to start the match off.
Wright is just waiting for his big moment to pounce, and he’s belied the £300,000 transfer fee to become a bit of a cult favourite already for Rangers fans – Stevie was desperate to add him to his squad, and a start tomorrow might just see Wright become a bigger first-team fixture in the weeks ahead.
We shall see.
