Shock developments in Spain have shed major new light on Rangers’ racism row, and further exposed UEFA’s disgusting hypocrisy and apathy to the situation.

Cadiz defender Cala is alleged to have slurred Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby, with the visiting side leaving the field of play, before the French international insisted the club return for the second half but remained in the dressing room.

The LaLiga then released a strongly-worded statement:

“LaLiga condemns racism in all shapes and forms and has been an active party in persecuting hate crimes in Spain. We take any allegation of racism seriously and will work with the clubs and refereeing establishment to do whatever is necessary…”

Meanwhile UEFA to this day still have made no comment on the Ondrej Kudela Glen Kamara incident, and the investigation has been left to rot in a back room somewhere.

UEFA, the ‘champion’ of pushing forth ‘equal game’ and ‘respect’ in constant marketing campaigns have remained completely silent on this incident, while LaLiga waited barely a few hours before condemning the potential racism against Valencia’s CB.

This is less about Rangers and what Kamara suffered, and more about how disgraceful and hypocritical UEFA truly are – they are a complete disgrace, blowhards who spend big money to look good but have no interest in enforcing any of the anti-racism campaigns they push.

LaLiga took less than a day to defend Diakhaby, UEFA, two weeks on, still don’t care.

Says it all.

  1. The La Liga statement is a bit vague simply stating that they denounce racism and will work to investigate it but other than that have said no more or less than UEFA. Something must happen or it will just continue.
