Sources: Stevie G could pull astonishing summer coup off for Rangers

Steven Gerrard could produce a shock this summer by holding onto all of his key assets, despite strong speculation linking the majority with a big-money move out.

After Gerrard himself was unofficially confirmed as remaining for another year, Ryan Kent followed suit and news broke he was to resist any offers south.

This comes on the back of contract talks for Connor Goldson and Glen Kamara, while James Tavernier has already signed an extension.

Borna Barisic signed one in January, and the only two other players around whom there is speculation are Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi.

Morelos is still vulnerable, but if Stevie can persuade him to remain for the CL, then the Colombian could yet surprise us all and stay.

Meanwhile Ibrox Noise was contacted earlier this week confirming the Hagi rumours are false and both he and his father are not seeking a move out – not to say all bids will be rejected, but the attacker wants to succeed with Rangers, and will get CL next season.

So this all means that unless Rangers get offers they simply can’t refuse, the best summer business may well be the retention of just about all of the club’s key players.

And that would be absolutely outstanding.
