Steven Gerrard has tonight confirmed what Ibrox Noise has told you – he does one day want to be Liverpool manager, but not yet.

In an interesting interview with ITV’s Peter Adam Smith, Rangers’ manager also claim Liverpool fans don’t want him to be their manager, which we do believe is a slightly modest comment to make, and that the supporters at Anfield want Jurgen Klopp as boss.

And the truth is, following today’s announcement that Germany boss Joachim Low’s imminent resignation, there was speak of Klopp taking over, something the ex-Dortmund chief ruled out immediately.

So assuming that is gospel and remains consistent, there won’t be a vacancy at Liverpool any time soon, and the current manager is more interested in fixing the club and not only clinching CL this season but regaining a foothold next campaign.

Gerrard, as usual, is being linked to the Liverpool job, and will be until he gets it one day, but he ruled it out after the securing of 55, and he’s ruled it out again.

Klopp, we believe, is going nowhere, and this season will be written off as an ugly aberration compared with last.

And Stevie appears to be a man of his word who will stay in Govan for some considerable time yet.
