Any side who wishes to secure the coveted signature of Glen Kamara this summer may have to dig very deep indeed after the highly rated midfielder revealed contract talks with Rangers have certainly begun.

Kamara, who of course has been at the centre of a racism scandal the past 7 days, has just over two years left on his present deal, and many sides have been monitoring him to say the least.

His performances this season, while at times within himself, have been of a player destined for bigger things than the SPL, and he’s projected to play in the Premier League at some point in his career.

As such, any vultures swooping in with interest this summer would have to dig deep in the first place to sign him; but with the Fin confirming contract talks with Rangers, his market value may just have gone up.

Kamara has always been modest about his future – admitting he would like one day to sample the PL, but never making a big deal about it, unlike some, and showing Rangers respect and his loyalty.

But the bright lights of England will come calling and Kamara is either ensuring Rangers get a fat cheque for him when the deal does happen, or he’s changed his mind and wants to stay longer.

Either way, win win.

That said, we’re not naïve – he could be humouring the club with these talks in order to get it out there that any potential suitor will have to move quick to sign him for a smaller transfer fee.

But either way Kamara does things the right way, and whether he stays or leaves for a big fee, we can’t ask more than that.
