Brendan Rodgers today took what can only be regarded as one hell of a swipe at Celtic following his insistence they must do a Guard of Honour for Rangers as an act of ‘humility’.
The topic has been hot conversation recently, and the former Parkhead boss weighed in with a declaration that his old team should deliver it in sporting grace.
Now, Rodgers is probably the most hated ex-Celtic manager out there, given how domestically brilliant he was before literally dumping the team for Leicester – fans reacted with absolute horror and turned on him immediately with every vile slur under the sun. You name it.
So Rodgers isn’t the toast of Parkhead any more, and this will only serve to endear him a little to Rangers fans who had a lot of chuckles at Celtic’s expense when he left, and those chuckles continue to this day given the failed manager who replaced him and the mess he’s caused Celtic to become in his exit.
Do we agree with him?
Who cares! It only serves to wind up his former fanbase who already think he’s the devil incarnate, and that definitely gets our thumbs up!
