Yet more hysteria over Rangers from UEFA
NYON, SWITZERLAND - JULY 10: In this handout image provided by UEFA, a general view prior to the UEFA Europa League 2019/20 Quarter-final, Semi-final and Final draw at the UEFA headquarters, The House of European Football on July 10, 2020 in Nyon, Switzerland. (Photo by UEFA via Getty Images)

UEFA have published their list showing final squad changes and have again highlighted Rangers’ impact in Europe with an interesting compilation of great Rangers goals in the UEFA competition:

However, what is interesting is when you scroll down the page and you will see UEFA only provides videos for 6 teams; Leicester, Slavia Praha, Milan, Crvena Zvezda, Antwerp, and Rangers, and amongst these teams only Rangers are highlighted for our goals.

Up first in their compilation is of course that goal by Kemar Roofe, a contender for best goal, ever. Next they then show Hagi’s goal against Braga, next was Morelos’ well taken goal against Porto, then Ojo’s powerful strike against Feyenoord.

Then there is the surprise in the list, Steven Whittaker’s fantastic goal against Sporting.

Despite today’s disappointing domestic result, Rangers in Europe this season (and indeed previously under Stevie) have been beyond stellar. It’s been recognised time and time again by the governing body and here we go again.

Yep, UEFA does seem to like Rangers’ contribution.
