Two in, one gone – one ‘lost’. Rangers transfer latest
Jack Simpson joins Rangers.

In a hectic last few hours of Deadline Day, a number of deals have been ratified or come close to it, and Ibrox Noise now has a look at what the latest is.

In a piece of joyous news, the criminally abysmal Brandon Barker has gone to Oxford on loan. A complete mental failure, he might have been half-decent in training, but if any senior player the past two years has psychologically capitulated as badly on match day as Barker, we’d love to know who it was. He had one or two half decent matches yes, but overall a completely catastrophic signing and while it was a plan B in the event of Ryan Kent no arriving, it was completely misguided. We called it out as a bad signing when it happened, and sadly we’ve been proven more true than we’d have wanted.

Scott Wright has been secured for £200K. The Aberdeen attacker will arrive in time for the visit of St Johnstone on Wednesday, after a deal was finally struck between Rangers and the Dons. It has no bearing on the Ross McCrorie situation.

Nnamdi Ofoborh ended up at Wycombe after all. With all due respect, a player who isn’t good enough for Championship Bournemouth and can only get a loan to doomed Wycombe isn’t good enough for us. He’s not signed a pre-contract with Rangers btw, it’s just speculation. It’s being assumed he’ll join Rangers as a free agent in the summer but we hope not.

Jack Simpson has signed a four and a half year deal and like Scott Wright joins immediately. The fee is undisclosed but he’s another who will be available for Wednesday.

It’s all kicking off!

  1. All pretty good business, not too happy with giving the SS any money as they disrespect us but hopefully the lad will blossom at Ibrox. I would like to have seen a Kent similar winger type come in , perhaps it may happen before the deadline.

  2. A bit harsh on Ofoborh. The lad is only 21 and has much development to do. Wycombe fans are absolutely delighted he is back so he must have something. You could make the same claims about Simpson who at the age of 24 has only made 30 appearances for Bournemouth, just 5 more than the aforementioned criminally abysmal Barker.
