If there is one stunner besides the imminent arrival of 55 at Ibrox in a few weeks, it’s the fact for the first time since Steven Gerrard was manager, he has just one solitary injury issue concern now in Niko Katic, and the entire rest of the squad is completely fit.
With Scott Arfield’s timely return yesterday and Jermain Defoe’s place on the bench, Steven Gerrard can now pick from his full squad at long long last, with only Kemar Roofe’s ridiculous ban stopping a complete complement.
Of course, Alfredo Morelos will be back midweek and at the weekend which also solves that solution too, and from having barely a single striker only a few days ago, Stevie now has Morelos, Itten and Defoe to select from.
It means that, aside Katic and Kemar, Rangers go into the absolute business end of the season in the best possible physical condition to take on the tail end of the campaign and secure 55 at long last.
Of course, we all know the form and application could maybe be a bit better, and we’re certain our manager is hardly delighted with the fare overall, but the wins are mostly there, and a great deal of the recent iffy form could be attributed to the lack of Morelos, Arfield, Davis and Jack.
With all four now back and ready, 55 is coming home.
