The voting is now closed, and Ibrox Noise readers have picked their POTY.

In the end the numbers were clear, and stayed pretty much the same from the early moments of voting till it shut off early this afternoon.

We now bring you the top five, in reverse order:

5th Scott Arfield

With a modest 7% of the vote, Scotty got in the top five but was miles off your choice as outright pick – nevertheless he’s had a stunning season and Rangers are just better with him in the side.

4th Connor Goldson

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – DECEMBER 03: Connor Goldson of Rangers celebrates after scoring their team’s first goal during the UEFA Europa League Group D stage match between Rangers and Standard Liege at Ibrox Stadium on December 03, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. Defence has been excellent this season, and Goldson’s contribution can’t be forgotten. He amassed an honourable 10% of the vote.

3rd Allan McGregor

ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND – AUGUST 01: Allan McGregor of Rangers FC reacts during the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Aberdeen and Rangers at Pittodrie Stadium on August 01, 2020 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Not a loud season from the Goalie, but superb when called into action, Greegsy nailed 16% of the total.

2nd James Tavernier

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – OCTOBER 01: James Tavernier of Rangers and Calvin Bassey of Rangers celebrate at full time after the UEFA Europa League play-off match between Rangers and Galatasaray at Ibrox Stadium on October 01, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. 22% for the captain who’s had such a ridiculous season, but it’s tailed off in the past two months and we think that’s a major reason it was just 22%.

1st and your POTY

Steven Davis.

It was never going to be anyone else. 32% and a clear winner, Davo has been the only outfield player to maintain his level into 2021 – at 36 he’s ridiculously getting better, and he’s your absolute stand out this season.

We imagine the official club award will be between him and Tav, and going by this ‘preview’, Davo is going to take it.

And there you have it.

  1. I hope he goes at least one more season for 56 and a Champions League run he desreves. He’s True Blue one of the Real Rangers Legends. I also hope we tie him up with a coaching or Club Role in Scouting perhaps in Northern Ireland for his superb loyalty and ability .

  2. When 55 is brought home the whole squad will become legends the work that has been done by coaches, players, directors and fans for our club is like nothing before. This one will be sweeter than any of us have ever experienced, for Steven Davis and Allan Mcgregor to be such integral cogs in the well oiled wheel makes it all the more special. Absolute Class
