It’s now a week since the match, and we at IN were waiting quietly for the press, or the SFA to look into Scott Brown’s actions, when he feigned being attacked by Morelos.
For those who may have missed it Scott Brown deliberately threw himself at Morelos’ hand and then pretended he had been punched.
He did it right in front of the ref, and this brings up the question. Should he have been given a red card and forced to walk?
The rules on this are vague. For simulation (which arguably could be what Brown did) the only punishment is a yellow.
But, if the referee considered Mr Brown’s actions to be offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures…then it’s a straight red.
In my view it is the latter….it might not be overtly abusive, but it’s cheating, and degrades the sport, you know, the Sporting Integrity of it all. Especially the brass neck to do it right in front of Madden.
With Duffy’s overzealous tackle as well, Celtic could or even should have been down to 8 players…
But the SFA have not investigated Lego Muncher’s blatant attempt to get Morelos sent off. Nor will they.
It’s clear as day, Morelos is tried by TV, but no one else. And Scott Brown has his permanent get out of jail free card, and over here we are just sick and tired of it.
The BBC… of course they say nothing.
The Daily Record….yeah we know their position.
So, the evidence is there.
Rangers are always attacked.
Celtic’s misdeeds are quickly forgotten ignored (or in this case covered up).
And it stinks…
Scott Brown should be banned for at least two or three games.
But the SFA, as usual, will look the other way. It’s pathetic.
Typical Brown, personally I thought his behaviour in the Scottish Cup Final was worse, bad example for kids playing the game and not a word from the SFA or Celtic, to be expected 😡
Lennon wasn’t called up for his post match criticism of the referee and lineman either.
