Remember the League Cup final? Why sure you do. The one where we completely outplayed Celtic and Fraser Forster broke our hearts?
They won the cup that day completely undeservedly, and it’s been something our club has smarted from since.
And today, Steven Gerrard got the sweetest of revenge with a truly awful performance in which his side were outplayed the entire afternoon but still won the match to break Celtic hearts right back after a stunning Allan McGregor performance.
What goes around comes around, and Celtic came to Ibrox 100% up for it, destroyed us in every way but just could not score.
And Rangers scored ourselves in the sweetest way possible, a Celtic OG, a complete finger back up to Parkhead for their League Cup win.
If ever we wanted to get a touch of revenge, being outplayed and playing that badly while still maintaining a clean sheet and letting them score our winner for us was pretty much as sweet as it gets.
We’ll have tonnes more on this as we go, but we liked that. A lot.
