It has once again circulated that Rangers are linked with 28-year-old attacking midfielder Daniel Johnson.

Rangers are thought to be looking to bring the Jamaica international in on a pre-contract deal after Preston priced Rangers out of a deal for the player in the summer, however so far, we are yet to hear any conformation of these rumours.

The attacking-midfielder who is currently captain of the English championship side has so far notched up 3 goals and 3 assists in the league this season (18 apps) and made his full debut for Jamaica earlier last year.

My personal verdict is that a move for Daniel Johnson shouldn’t be in the interest of either Ross Wilson nor Steven Gerrard as the player is rather unspectacular.

Also, with the option to buy Bongani Zungu (albeit he is yet to impress) and with players who are similar to Johnson such as Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo not looking like leaving anytime soon, Johnson would struggle to find a place in the starting team.

Also, at 28 years old he is hardly one for the future.

More as we get it.

  1. Nothing to do with this post but wanted to mention the result at Livingston tonight. Surely Lennon can’t last the night. But then again surely we can’t have 2 sad, hopeless, deluded, bad loser, arseholes leave office on the same day.
