Rangers have been linked with a serious piece of competition for Ryan Kent in the form of Rochdale sensation Kwadwo Baah.

The German-born left flanker, at just 18, is tearing up League One with an excellent five goals and assists in league 13 appearances.

In just 558 minutes of senior football at the Crown Oil Arena, the boy’s stats have been remarkable for his age, and West Ham (and Bayern) are said to be aggressively sniffing around him as well.

Rangers are really struggling for quality on the left, with only the disappointing Brandon Barker available as any kind of competition for main man Ryan Kent who may have been guilty the past few months of some modest complacency with no one biting at his ankles keeping him sharp.

But Baah really is one heck of a prospect, and he’s enjoying his breakthrough season as one of League One’s most promising rising stars – it’s no wonder PL clubs are milling around him.

He’s another Bosman, of course, so would be a fine recruit for absolutely nothing, and it’s that left wing that would finally get some quality opposition for Kent and maybe even someone seriously capable of starting.

With the CV Baah has, he’s not one who’d be signing for the Academy, not at all.

We’ll see if this one materialises.
