“Outstanding – 10” – One Ger was especially at his best in Dingwall
DINGWALL, SCOTLAND - DECEMBER 06: Calvin Bassey of Rangers is challenged by Ross Stewart of Ross County during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Ross County and Rangers at Global Energy Stadium on December 06, 2020 in Dingwall, Scotland. Rangers travelled to Dingwall today and after a slightly slow start strolled their way to an easy win against a side struggling for goals.

Ibrox Noise takes you through our ratings for another clean sheet in the league.

McGregor:

Actually forced into one half decent save, but was otherwise barely needed. Solid outing for McGregor, but was actually saved by the frame in the second half. 7

Tavernier:

What a season he’s having. Some excellent width on the right, constant menace to the defence, and was barely needed defensively. Got himself a sort of goal too. Good running and got an assist as well. 9

Goldson:

Was disrupted by some alleged racism at the end of the first half, but was an otherwise fine performance from the big man, who delivered some top class passing and was defensively pretty solid. 8

Balogun:

One or two misplaced passes, but a mostly comfortable performance from the Nigeria international – he wasn’t really tested that much. 7

Bassey:

Faded as the match wore on, Bassey works hard but obviously isn’t the same quality as Barisic. Rangers were less of a threat with overlapping runs and crosses than we’d normally be on that side, but he did try. Only attempted 5 crosses and none of them were close to being a major threat. 6

Davis:

Some of this guy’s passing and vision was absolutely world class today. Outstanding performance, no more needs said. 10

Kamara:

Quieter performance but aside one or two loose passes he was comfortable, tidy and did a neat job. 7

Joe Aribo:

Isn’t on form yet, not quite hitting the heights we know he can. He will get better in time, but there’s a nagging feeling the formation change over recent weeks doesn’t get the best out of him. 6

Kent:

Won some fouls and his passing was excellent, as well as making as many runs as he could. Wasn’t able to get behind much but was always available. 8

Roofe:

Opened the scoring with a delightful finish but wasn’t maybe that heavily in this one. Always works hard but found himself a bit isolated today. 7

Morelos:

Just yet another rank mince performance from a player who has barely shown up in the league this season. Forget this garbage about ‘he’s playing deeper, team player’. Every single stat we have at hand shows he’s not trying like he used to. 5

Steven Gerrard:

Set out a respectfully full-strength team to face County, and while they started slowly, once the first goal was in, it was a steam roller. Another efficient display, and Stevie will be pleased at yet another clean sheet. He’ll be especially happy his changes didn’t make any real difference to the side’s effectiveness, bar Bassey’s crossing. But that’s clutching at straws. 8

  1. Morelos just isn’t doing it and is not prepared to put the effort in. I’d like to see what Defoe and/or Itten can give us instead. In what way could it be any worse. The team is performing miracles without a functioning striker.

  2. Agree Steven Davis superb . Good performance 2nd half I also don’t think Aribo is getting involved enough due where he is in the formation. I’d like to see more of Zungu. Good result.
