With the good news always comes something a little more negative, and this morning sources claim multiple PL sides are now seriously looking at Rangers captain James Tavernier, with the RB in the most sparkling form of his life.
Following Tavernier for England claims, the ex-Newcastle defender (is he really a defender) has come under the spotlight significantly this season, and despite being historically linked south for the past three years, the wearer of the armband has never seen his stock as high before as it is now.
And as such, PL giants, astonishingly including Man Utd, have been whispered in relation to taking interest in him.
The January window, lest we forget, is only three weeks ago, and this one is set to be a lot busier than normal with covid having set a lot of clubs back financially and needing to sell their bigger assets to balance the books more than they would usually.
Rangers are technically no different, but as we explained in an earlier entry, CL participation will wipe Rangers’ deficit out in an instant – so the urge to the crown jewels isn’t as strong at Ibrox.
But teams are definitely interested in Tavernier such are his ludicrous stats and form this campaign, and we certainly hope he’s one we hold onto, regardless of potential suitors.
I hope we don’t sell anyone until the league is won. It’s far too important and surely we haven’t built the squad up over the last 2 seasons to throw it all away.
