Leaving them in our trail now....

If one thing stood out today, among the many at Ibrox, it was the fact it was the latest domestic benching of Glen Kamara, who has not started a league match since the 17th of October.

It’s a very interesting piece of management from Steven Gerrard after he described the Finn as unsellable, and that the ex-Dundee man was part of his elite untouchables.

The 24-year old has started all European matches this campaign, and has featured heavily for his country on international breaks, but it gives some idea of the frightening quality Rangers have in midfield that he is rested for league matches at the moment.

Team mate Bongani Zungu is injured, yet Rangers still have Ryan Jack, Steven Davis and Scotty Arfield doing the business with aplomb.

Kamara will certainly have had the reason for his benching explained to him, and the performances from the reinvigorated Jack, Arfield and indeed Davis are more than sufficient.

Rangers, able to drop a £30M player like Kamara with no difficulty at all. A player who had been in outstanding form.

That’s where this football club are right now.

  1. I would say it’s the first BIG game we’ve went into without Kamara. That’s a huge compliment to the player but it also shows he has great faith in other players to step in.
