Rangers have been given a bit of a blow after Bongani Zungu’s injury on international duty may rule the South African out for a very busy period of football.

The new loan signing took many weeks to get back to fitness and has managed 45 minutes in the Light Blue shirt, but got a bad knee injury with his country and is still being assessed as we speak.

He obviously had to miss the visit of Aberdeen, but until a proper diagnosis and examination is completed, we won’t know how long we’re missing his services.

Midfield is of course the richest area of the pitch, and we still have Jack, Arfield, Davis and Kamara which is pretty strong to say the least, but we could do without our shiny new signing being unavailable again, following a very stop start beginning to his career at Ibrox.

We have no idea if he will be fit for Thursday’s visit of Benfica, but it’s a hell of a hectic period to lose him for.

Hopefully it’s not too serious, but his place at training or otherwise for Thursday will tell us a lot.
