Rangers’ latest training gallery has given the biggest clue yet that the club and players have forgiven Jordan Jones and George Edmundson for their palpable indiscretion and has welcomed them back unconditionally.

The latest images from Auchenhowie made a strong point of highlighting both players in plenty of prominence, including a tonne of them looking in good spirits, and going by that focus, it’s clear that both players will be considered again for selection come their availability again at the turn of the year.

What they did was dreadful, immature, reckless and selfish, but time is a great healer, and Ryan Kent could certainly do with Jones’ competition on the left while defence still has Niko Katic to return albeit the chances are he’ll do so around the time Edmundson’s ban ends.

Nevertheless, it’s good to see both players back in training, with their club suspension formally lifted, and it appears, forgiveness given them by the manager and their fellow pros.

In all honesty, with the length of a season evident and the stretching of resources at the moment through injury and indeed aforementioned pair’s SFA ban, it becomes more and more obvious that Rangers will need all the quality depth they can get, January window notwithstanding, so having these two back is no bad thing.
