Like George Edmundson, Jordan Jones is now out of isolation but banned till next year. He, like his ignominious team mate, was suspended at club level for an unstated period, but there’s something about Jones that we didn’t quite want to give up on.

Ryan Kent has obviously had an incredible season but his form has been just a little more modest the past month or so, but he, like Tavernier and Goldson, is 100% untouchable and undroppable.

Is it possible the lack of major competition for his shirt has led to a little complacency on his part recently?

But it doesn’t matter – what does, is Jones – in a sense anyway.

He’s been an idiot in our shirt twice, the red card then this. He’s not the brightest boy, we know that, but he definitely has some ability to say the least.

He’s produced it repeatedly for his country, and we’ve seen a few glimpses in our shirt of what he can do.

But he’s now axed from football in this country for well over a month, and we can’t see there ever being a reprieve for him.

Kent only has Barker for company as competition on the left, and thanks to Jones’ stupidity, he has just wasted yet more months of his career, months which would have been much better served fighting for his place and making Kent watch his back.

But no, Jones, for the talent he clearly has, is almost certainly done at Ibrox.

Why? Because we just can’t trust him not to screw up again.
