Injury blow for Rangers as ‘existing’ condition worsens…
Not ideal....

As Ibrox Noise sadly brought you after the weekend, Steven Davis’ absence from the team on Sunday was not just down to saving him for NI, but injury too, and unfortunately the national captain struggled through his country’s defeat on Thursday with an ailment, said to be a thigh problem.

We’re not sure if this is the same issue just exacerbated, but unfortunately Davo is of an age now where he might start to suffer recurring injuries, and it appears the niggle that kept him out of Sunday is starting to be a bit of a problem.

Of course the former Southampton man is now 35, and certainly reaching the tail end of his career – there’s no question that while he’s been an absolute pro and a model one at that throughout, his body cannot constantly withstand the rigours of senior football and he will require rest a lot more now.

So expect significantly less of him from here on in, because it’s unfair to select him with recurrent injuries blighting him.

But yes, sadly his injuries issues are growing, and they’ve affected his last two fixtures for club and country.

He just needs to put his feet up more and save himself now for domestic affairs!
