Big boost for Stevie G as major injury doubt is ‘wiped out’…

Rangers’ training gallery on the 27th was incredibly insightful on many levels. Sure, it’s effectively a propaganda tool to show the squad in the best light possible, and keep fans happy at seeing our heroes being put through their paces, but this one offered a lot of clues about the state of play at Auchenhowie.

We already know that Jordan Jones and George Edmundson have been welcomed back to the fold with open arms, but tellingly, Bongani Zungu was also back in full training and may be closer to competitive action than initially believed.

The big South African took part in all activities and was even involved with the training match as well, and with Ryan Jack most definitely awol through injury, it’s a near stick-on that the on-loan Amiens man will start on Sunday.

We know we said he was part of the injured crew in a recent entry, but hey, we got that one wrong – his recovery has mercifully been way quicker than we feared and if he isn’t in the XI on Sunday he will surely be on the bench.

We’ll have more coverage of the build up over the next day or so, but it’s definitely a relief to be restored to a full compliment in midfield, with just Jack absent.

And we’d love to see our newest signing properly in action tomorrow.
