Alfredo Morelos gives fans potentially massive boost

Rangers fans have been given a subtle boost over Alfredo Morelos’ future after it emerged the Colombian has stopped talking about leaving.

The ‘wantaway’ striker infamously agreed terms with French giants Lille in the summer, only for the deal to fall through due to low bidding, so it had been felt he’d leave regardless.

But the former HJK man’s speeches and quotes about a new adventure have definitely dimmed of late, and he hasn’t been in the press at all about seeking a new challenge.

Indeed, his last comments on his future were rather vague, and he did say he was happy at Rangers and would decide his future in the ‘next few days’ – and it seems like he is content at Ibrox, for now at least, and there’ll be no further comments about ‘his next move’.

We know Morelos wants the PL eventually, and that’s fair enough, and he has been (more than) on record espousing that need, but Steven Gerrard’s recent comments revealing Morelos now sees his ambitions as Champions League might just be the carrot which keeps the Colombian happy at Ibrox, given Rangers will certainly be in the qualifiers next season.

The leaving talk over the last few years has been tedious and tiresome, but the past few weeks to months have definitely seen a ceasefire on it, and now with Gerrard revealing the change in his star striker’s ambitions, it could well be that Morelos will stop talking about leaving and get his head fully in Rangers.

Which would be nice!
