Rangers face a major injury pile up on the eve of the Celtic match on the 17th after another two internationalists reported issues or pulled out.

We already know Niko Katic will definitely not be available, of course, and Joe Aribo is likely to be out for some considerable number of weeks yet, but Filip Helander and Borna Barisic appear to have joined the list for the time being.

This adds to Kemar Roofe who is unlikely to be available, while strangely one outlet claimed Ryan Jack was injured too despite his appearance for Scotland last night.

That said, our chums over the city are potentially missing a bunch of key personnel too, including cv victims Edouard and Christie. We’re not sure why Callum McGregor was able to play but your guess is as good as ours with these rules at times.

Either way, most importantly, Rangers could have quite a few absences on the 17th, depending on who regains fitness in time, and the whole thing really is a bit of a mess.

This international break has come at an awful time.
