Rangers transfer roundup – 2 ‘in’ 4 ‘out’
Jacob Murphy in action

Another day at Ibrox during the transfer window, and we doubt many clubs are subject to the number of transfer stories we see in Govan. Ibrox Noise takes you through what we’ve seen, heard, been told, you name it.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek:

This one cropped up today, and with Rangers definitely in the market for a big strong dynamic midfielder the England international, not a particular regular at Chelsea, has been mooted with a surprise switch to Ibrox. Whether it’s a loan or a permanent we’ve no idea, but we’ve been linked to worse players than this.

Ryan Kent:

Leeds haven’t yet come back with the big £15M bid that we know of, but nevertheless he’s one Bielsa wants. Obviously they bid around £8M recently, which was rejected, but with Rangers rejecting £16M for Morelos, there’s just no way one of our most prized assets is moving to Elland Road for less than that.

Borna Barisic:

They’ve had a bid rejected already this summer, on the quiet, but they’re said to be coming back in again with another. The Croat is a wanted man, with Roma still hovering as well, so anyone who wants him would have to shell out major major cash. And we’re probably talking a Scottish transfer record.

James Tavernier:

One of the more ‘out there’ stories we’ve heard, a few English sides are said to be interested in him given his solid start to the season. A fee ranges from £3M-£8M whoever you listen to, but this is probably the first time we’ve been against selling him, and while he shouldn’t be captain, he’s having a fine season and is worth well over £10M.

Alfredo Morelos:

Nothing has been sorted yet but it will be. The Colombian is working his ticket out, but Rangers are holding firm on the fee. We’ll just see how this one goes.

Jacob Murphy:

Newcastle winger has been on Rangers’ radar for a while, and while Newcastle coach Steve Agnew made a claim that the attacker will be getting another chance at St James’, Steve Bruce’s lack of endorsement speaks volumes. Rangers do need a right winger, and Murphy wouldn’t be a fortune. But this one is a bit more slimmer.

And there’s the best/worst of it.

  1. I really hope we can sell Morelos for around 20 Million soon then spend some decent cash getting the central midfield and other LB cover in I hope that the SG Team and Ross Wilson are already well advanced with that plan .
