Rangers star’s stock will rise with major start tonight

Following Rangers’ impressive start to the season, after just two and a half matches of his own performances, Sweden’s Filip Helander has stood out as having a far better 20/21 than previous campaign.

Statistically, overall, he’s Rangers’ best CB on form, and the ex-Bologna man has once again earned a call up to the national side for tonight’s clash with world champions France.

Will he get the nod to start?

Maybe – he’s been on the fringes of Sweden’s national side for a long time, and while his form is great, he’s got some big players to displace.

Lindelöf and Granqvist are the main two stoppers for Sweden, but the latter is not involved in this break through injury, so Helander might get the nod alongside Man Utd’s centre half.

For the lesser matches recently, Brentford’s Jansson has been paired alongside Rangers’ man, which probably puts them at equal chance of getting the place alongside the more regular Lindelöf, but we shall see.

Helander is in great form, and we’d love him to become a fixture for his national side. He’s shown so far this season a much better defender than he did last campaign, and it would be a nice story if he becomes a seasoned regular for his country just like Borna Barisic has.

Whoever does start though, has Mbappe to deal with…

  1. Porto are looking at Morelos now as they’ve just sold an 18 year old striker for £36 million called Silva to wolves , he made his debut last season , played 12 games and scored once???? Google Wolves FC news . When will we get any decent money for our players ?
