Rangers potentially braced for big bids for star man

Another international break, more Borna Barisic being world class. With a number of clubs looking at the Croat, attention will be hugely on his display tonight v Cristiano Ronaldo and friends, with Croatia travelling out to Porto to face the home side boosted by the in form Silvas, Fernandes as well as Juve’s megastar.

But it’s what our Borna does that matters to us, and with Leeds still sniffing around arguably Rangers’ most valuable asset, another fine display from the cultured LB will only encourage them further.

It’s clear a fine display from him could attract a megabucks bid for his services, and while we’re not interested, in theory it would take a monster amount of money to wrest him from us.

The global international stage is the biggest on which to strut your stuff.

The Champions League has become too saturated by ego and money for its calibre to be measured in the way it used to be, whereas international is the highest level of football featuring the beautiful game in its purest form with the best players.

And Barisic’s worth was always high due to his excellent displays for his country, but now he’s added club to that, and has further huge stages on which to demonstrate his quality, and delivering against Ronaldo and co would definitely be one.

We will watch Barisic’s performance with interest, and we’ll just have to fend off the attention a good show will attract.

Que sera!
