It’s been a while since we brought you a transfer roundup, and with barely a week left of the window, this is the latest we have for you with all the wheeling and dealing at Ibrox:

Alfredo Morelos:

It’s all gone very quiet and may well last up till the final day, Dembele style, but to our understanding no €20M bid was ever received by Rangers, never mind rejected, so as things stand, that alleged £16.5M bid from a month or so ago is the final and most recent one. Lille are the only club to have actually bid hard cash in this window, and it seems like no one else is interested. Either that or they’re all waiting till the final day to try and get him cheap.

Ryan Kent:

Leeds never came back in for Kent, despite the hype – the £10M bid was the best we got and was miles off enough. He’s one we don’t want to sell, and for now the buzz over him has died down. And we’re thankful for that.

Daniel Johnson:

This one went quiet too. A Championship midfielder at 27 with his CV really isn’t that exciting – he’s ok, nothing spectacular, and most of the hype about this one was media based.

Bongani Zungu:

Remember this one? Such a strange story, and it was one Rangers confirmed, but it never made the light of day after his failed medical. Since then his name has been getting murmured again but nothing further developed.

Taxiarchis Fountas:

25-year old Greek international was linked some days ago, the striker currently plying his trade in Austria with Rapid, but we’ve heard absolutely no movement since on this story so it’s likely more paper talk. He’s a decent striker in his defence, but with Cedric Itten finally arriving yesterday the urgent need to potentially replace Alfredo Morelos isn’t quite as prevalent.

At the moment the window is simmering – Rangers have lost a lot of players through injury, but despite Steven Gerrard’s insistence we’d dip into the market to pick up some replacements, nothing has happened and the team is doing fine, Hibs blip aside.

More as we get it.
