Latest twist in Morelos transfer as saga rumbles on

Mystery remains over the latest ‘bid’ for Alfredo Morelos after a sincerely unreliable (even worse than us) tabloid claimed the €20M bid tabled by Lille for the Colombian is in fact only being prepared and hasn’t been submitted.

They allege it is a ‘final’ offer, although unless they have contacts inside the Stade Pierre Mauroy it sounds as made up as the rest, but either way, Morelos’ time at Ibrox comes under increasing scrutiny amidst a nearly three-year transfer saga.

That’s right, from the original £11M bid from Beijing Renhe in late January 2018 we’ve had to put up with this piffle for three years (count ‘em) and to say it’s become a tad tiresome is an understatement.

Furthermore the same month that year was when the Morelos’ “I want to play in the Premier League” quotes began too, so we’ve had to tolerate the transfer circus around him for the best part of 36 months which is beyond ridiculous.

Nevertheless, Lille do look like the front runners and if they are to submit that €20M bid we do think the club will accept it and move on.

Morelos absolutely wants to leave, and the fans mostly lack the same level of sympathy for him as they once did. And Steven Gerrard, while thawing the ice lately, definitely doesn’t see the Colombian as the player he similarly did a while ago.

But if this red top report is true, Rangers haven’t rejected or accepted the bid yet because it hasn’t actually been received.

We’ll see.
