Clare Whyte to reveal Edwards verdict – any moment now (15:00)

In a genuinely surprising piece of news, Ryan Edwards’ horror challenge on Alfredo Morelos has been brought to the attention of SFA Compliance Officer Clare Whyte, and now the curiosity is whether or not the discipline chief will charge the Utd player.

The controversy over whether or not retrospective action is set to be revealed any moment now as Whyte will make her decision public, with the time of 15:00 today the deadline for her to charge him.

At the time of writing, (around 3PM), Miss Whyte is coming to her decision, and we wait with baited breath.

Of course, the issue fundamentally is whether or not she will do the ‘right’ thing or the ‘predictable’ thing.

Self-confessed Celtic fan former PL referee Dermott Gallagher claims it’s not a red card and the follow through is not a problem.

The fact Morelos was left wounded appears to be irrelevant, and if that is his stance, then fellow Parkhead faithful Whyte may arrive at the same answer.

We will await the verdict.

    • Willie Callum produced that card quicker than Paul Daniels. Sums our referees up. Let’s just say when Rangers are involved they don’t bother buttoning their top pocket and hope for the best.
