Another shock twist as Stevie G makes big call
Not afraid to drop players now....

Steven Gerrard has produced yet another shock about-turn twist after he selected Jordan Jones to replace the stricken Brandon Barker for Thursday’s trip to Gibraltar.

On the day media sites linked the NI international with a seven-figure move to QPR, the former Killie man was being prepped for the trip to mainland Europe.

It comes as yet another bonkers twist over the past few months with regards the winger, who won’t know which way is up or down at present, from being axed, to being linked out, to being benched, and then axed again from the UEL squad only to then be selected instead, it all adds up to a fun game of trying to keep up with the latest.

Jones obviously has something to offer – you don’t play for your country the number of times he has, with assists in there, if you’re no good, but Stevie just doesn’t favour him.

So this little twist certainly comes as an interesting plot turn, and in truth, Barker, if fit, was probably a shoe-in to start v the Imps. Whether this means Jones will feature in his place is another matter.

But it’s certainly the death knell surely on Glenn Middleton’s Rangers career – the 20-year old winger, still training at Auchenhowie, hasn’t featured in any of Stevie’s senior Rangers squads this season, and wasn’t included as a backup for the UEL fixture either.

And with even Jordan Jones being selected ahead of him, the flanker now finds his Rangers career as dead as a dodo.

Fun and games as always.

  1. I am a big fan of Jones he’s stronger and has more end product than Barker . I think he is more experienced in Scottish football too. Young Middleton will get another loan move . Onwards
