Surprise team news from both sides at Almondvale
He's back....

Rangers are to start for the first time this season with Scott Arfield in midfield, as Ibrox Noise suggested earlier, while Lyndon Dykes will not pose a problem for the home side following his imminent move to ‘the other’ Rangers in Mark Warburton’s QPR.

Steven Gerrard has lined up the (mostly) usual XI with the only change being Joe Aribo’s absence (we thought it might be Hagi) with the Canadian international coming in in his place, on top of the enforced absence of Nigeria’s Leon Balogun who finds his place taken by Filip Helander, as we also posited.

Rangers have momentum, and with Dykes’ challenge now gone too, fans have a strong expectation of a good result here at a tough venue.

But of course Livi’s start this term has been appalling, and they already look like they could be relegation candidates, and that was WITH Dykes in the team.

Take away his 23-odd goals and assists and we’re not sure how they will survive this season.

But, not Rangers’ problem – 3 points is, and a good win today is definitely needed.
