€4M duo as Rangers get serious in the transfer market

Rangers have a €4M chance of making an excellent signing after CSKA Sofia quoted €2M for Kristiyan Malinov, on top of interest in Rapid’s Dejan Ljubicic for a similar amount, with the two players allotted to defensive midfield.

The international for Bulgaria and the rising Austrian star respectively have been monitored by the club looking to bring in international-class to midfield, and the 26 and 22-year old spell trouble for existing DMs at the club Ross McCrorie and Glen Kamara as Steven Gerrard appears to get serious with regards to next season.

The Scottish window opened officially today to give the manager some major elbow room, and hopefully 9.5IAR-stopping calibre signings are on their way to give Rangers a strong boost going into the serious business come the end of the month, but targets like Malinov, with 13 caps for Bulgaria, and Ljubicic, with such an important place in Vienna’s side, are definitely more of the standard Rangers will be needing for next season.

Whether the club is looking at a double signing here or is just looking to get in one major body for defensive midfield, having moved on from Amiens mid Bongani Zungu (quoted price was too high) we don’t yet know, but these kinds of players are the right cost and of the right quality and hopefully a deal will go through for at least one of them inside two or three weeks.

A definite step in the right direction if it bears fruit.
