Key Rangers man departure south one step closer after development

Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers’ interest in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos stepped up a serious notch after the Daily Record alleged the King Power side have no interest in signing in the Colombian.

The hitman, whose stock with Rangers fans is a notable amount lower than it once was, has been bang out of form the past four or five months, current crisis notwithstanding, and his links south have started to grow again in the past few days after David Moyes’ West Ham was once more connected with an interest.

And after the national red top also claimed Rodgers has no interest in securing the ex-HJK man, we can only assume the contract to Gary Lineker’s old haunt is practically signed already…

In all seriousness, Morelos is an in-demand striker, and despite his loss of form at Ibrox clubs down south have been monitoring him closely indeed.

In fact, they’d have hoped for a dip in standard so they could nab him at a cheaper price, and for all his now-former Parkhead connections, Rodgers is certainly hated in the east these days and we acknowledge the guy is a hell of a manager who knows a player.

And he’d be eyeing up a sub-£10M buy of the 23-year old.

But Moyes is in there too.

Maybe a little bidding war, who knows.
