29% – which Rangers man came out on top in our midfield poll?

Yesterday we ran a poll on Rangers’ midfield, an area of contention among fans who have long-debated what the best combination of three players in there is.

We proposed Steven Davis, Ryan Jack and Ianis Hagi as the best long-term solution, but did you agree?

The numbers were certainly interesting from you, and here’s what we found:

The least popular player among the options was Glen Kamara – the subpar midfielder trailed in last with 6% of the vote and isn’t regarded by the fans as a serious option any more.

Next up was Joe Aribo with a barely-better 8% – he’s not captured your imagination and very few of you want him starting more often than not.

The next four are where it gets serious.

In fourth, and we weren’t shocked – Steven Davis, with 17%. Despite what he can bring to the side, his recent poor form has counted against him and you’re less enthusiastic about his contribution than you were, but you still back him.

In third, popular Romanian Ianis Hagi has your support and 20% of you want him at the apex of midfield – he’s really won you over.

In second, with just a pinch more than Hagi is Canada international Scott Arfield with 21%. Despite our suggestion he wouldn’t quite make the best three, you disagree. In a way, so do we!

And way out in front, by a country mile, 29% man Ryan Jack who got the clear largest number of all.

So your choice for best three is Jack and Arfield, with Hagi at the apex.

In all honesty, we’re not unhappy with that. Davis scored strong enough to still be a serious option in there too. But seriously, enough already with Aribo and Kamara please Stevie.

Oh and bring back Docherty and McCrorie.
