Steven Gerrard will be the proudest yet most frustrated man in Portugal tonight. Proud as punch his men overcame a pretty ordinary Braga on the night, in truth, with another mammoth European display, but frustrated the same performances don’t appear in the league.

We’ve heard rumour and counter rumour about dressing room splits, bullying, and even prostitutes (yes really) but what we saw tonight was a Rangers team playing for the shirt, never saying die and showing up 100%.

This is the Jekyll and Hyde Rangers that punctuates this season. Astonishing in Europe, inconsistent domestically.

This Rangers tonight is the one that can win the league.

Unfortunately they may not arrive back at Glasgow Airport.
