Subplots involving three Gers may be brewing at Ibrox…

We showed this upcoming photo earlier, and we must say it contains a multitude of subplots, and we’d like to take you through the lot of them:

Ross McCrorie:

As discussed earlier, he’s on the plane to Dubai, despite being on loan at Portmouth (who aren’t having a winter break). The DM is injured, or strongly recovering from one sustained early November, and hopes are that he might be getting a bit of a reprieve from Stevie G with inclusion on this winter trip. It’s good to see him back among the Rangers squad, and we would love to see him recalled.

Jake Hastie:

Signed then immediately farmed out to Rotherham on loan, the winger seems regarded by most fans as just not good enough or indeed ready to play for Rangers, and while his early performances showed promise, he did seem a little immature. Unfortunately for Hastie, he has only modestly impressed down south, with 3 assists and no goals in 10 starts plus 8 benchings. Aged 21, he’s not a child any more, and League One is the same level Greg Docherty excelled so well in last campaign, so for Hastie to rather struggle says a lot. We can’t see a reprieve for him any time soon.

Jordan Jones:

We’ve long-claimed he’s not in Stevie G’s favour, but he is included in this trip, and hopefully he and the manager prove us wrong by integrating him into the squad/first team fully in the second half of the season. Jones seems to have lost favour since that admittedly idiotic incident in September, but only started in 5 of 13 matches earlier this season so it’s not like he was a preferred choice in the first place.

These three players all have varying hopes with this team, and we’d argue at Ibrox Noise two of them are good enough to play a big role.

It’s just whether Gerrard sees the same thing.

  1. It's hard to see any of the three of them make it at Ibrox. We should've worked on developing McCrorie as a centre back as I don't see him playing in our midfield.
