Rangers transfer roundup latest

The past few days have been lively on the transfer front. Ibrox Noise brings you a roundup up of all (most) of the stories about who’s been linked out and who to.

Tavernier:

Been linked out pretty much since Rangers were promoted, claims are that Steve Bruce sent Newcastle scouts to check him out on the 29th. And they’ll have been impressed with his contribution that day. It would take a lot of cash to prise Steven Gerrard’s captain away from him.

Kamara:

He’s been linked with a lot of clubs, but the Arsenal and Sheffield stories were farcically wrong. Still, the Southampton, Norwich, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Juve links are still there, but a Stevie favourite is not going to be cheap.

Morelos:

Quell shock – the Colombian is once again the heart of the story, with every club and his dog linked. Main ones lately are Villa, Leeds, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle again, with Bologna joining the queue. We don’t think any of these can afford the asking price, so we don’t believe he’ll be joining any of them.

Aribo:

The Arsenal story attributed to Glen Kamara appears in fact to have been about Aribo instead – the Nigerian, whose form lately has been excellent, is now apparently interesting Mikel Arteta’s men and while we can’t see a bid tempting enough to be made, the timing is telling, just as the big lad finally gets some form together.

Barisic:

This is currently the Hollywood one – widely-regarded as perhaps one of the top 5 fullbacks in Britain right now, the Croat international’s stock will never be higher, and a big queue has formed for his services. He’d be hard to hold onto if the bid was right, but it would have to be very, very right indeed. Teams interested include Roma, Fenerbahce and AC Milan.

Other departures have mentioned squad surplus like King, Herrera and Murphy, plus out of favour players like Jones and Docherty.

But these above five are the big names being linked with big money moves. We don’t believe any of them will leave save for a sensational offer, so Rangers fans needn’t worry too much.

It’s just nice to know big teams are after our players – shows they’re doing something right.

  1. Good point. It's encouraging. I think personally, Morelos would do great things at Villa. Whether he ends up there, depends on who is going to cough up. The days of bargain players is over, at Rangers FC.
