Rangers January window ins & outs – comprehensive roundup so far

With just 8 or 9 days left of this transfer window, Ibrox Noise decided to take you through a full and comprehensive run down of everything Rangers. This could be a long one and will cover stuff you might not even have noticed.

Without further ado, here we go:

Youth signings:

Kyle Semple
– 15-year old from Motherwell, left-sided CB/LB who’s clearly still developing. Signed as a possible compensator for the potential loss of Leon King.

Extensions:

Ben Williamson – this 18-year old midfielder has extended at Ibrox for an extra year.

Youth departures:

Goalie Aidan McAdams, 20, has moved to Portadown till the end of the season. Made some waves in a training video a year ago, working with the seniors. We wish him well.

And another goalie, Nicky Hogarth, just 18, goes out to Stirling Albion for half a season.

Zak Rudden – has departed permanently to Partick Thistle.

21 year old stopper Aidan Wilson has also had his loan at Edinburgh extended.

Senior signings:

Ok, at this point, Rangers haven’t signed a soul. That simple. We’ll get to the links soon.

Senior departures:

Jamie Murphy goes on loan to Burton Albion for the rest of the season.

Eros Grezda was sold back to Osijek

Andy King’s loan was terminated

Jamie Barjonas was loaned to Partick Thistle

Robby McCrorie’s QotS loan was terminated and he’s gone to Livi instead.

Extensions:

Andy Firth
gets another year.

Incoming links:

So, we know Steven Gerrard is pessimistic on record as saying anyone is coming in, but there are rumoured deals.

Stoke City’s Tyrese Campbell is said to be potentially imminent, but it’s not a done deal just yet. We face competition and it could be a pre-contract.

Mostafa Mohamed of Egypt mob Zamalek handed in a transfer request weeks ago but the £5M asking price is a tad steep and it appears Rangers backed off on that one.

Beyond these, and the speculation, there really is nothing concrete coming in, at all. We’ll still bring you what we get, but at this moment in time we have nothing tangible beyond this Campbell story.

Outgoing links:

Where do we even start. Easier to name the players who HAVEN’T been linked with a move out:

McGregor, Foderingham, Firth (obviously), Katic, Helander, Halliday, Arfield, Jack, Ojo, Defoe, Kent.

Give or take all the rest have, via either a loan, termination or sale, been linked with heading out. Yes, even George Edmundson briefly when some talk suggested he was seeking minutes. But he’s gone on record since as stating he’s happy to fight for his place and wait his turn.

But at this point, in the window, while there’s been a lot of movement out the way both senior and youth, incoming for the whole club is consigned to just Kyle Semple.

And that’s about as comprehensive as we need.
